I'm nervous. I can't help but be nervous.
What if you don't like it? What if I don't like it?
At the end of the day, though, I chose to put it out there. And I really do feel great about the finished product.
I wholeheartedly followed my gut, my mind, and my heart when I began writing "Creating Your Masterpiece."
It never occurred to me that I would come to love the process and the content so much that I could hardly stand to part with it.
Maybe that's why we're having such issues uploading it into the fancy, interactive software.
:-)
We're on it, and despite that fact and the fact that we've all been so sick, we are still shooting for Monday. If not Monday, as soon as we can possibly get it working!!!
I wanted to share a little bit about the book here with you guys, though, as you are the ones that absolutely inspired me to get writing.
You'll be getting 203 pages, 3 video tutorials and 226 photos, packed with almost everything I could fit in one book without being excessive.
:-)
We'll cover a ton of information: painting with a brush, painting with a Wagner, priming, stripping, staining-2 techniques, distressing, glazing, glazing with stain, go-to sealants, whitewashing, dry brushing, layered paint treatments, painting new construction to cover solidly and to celebrate the grain, staining new construction (both ways as above), and more. WHEW!
But more than that, we'll talk about your vision, your inspiration, your finished product. There's a section on finding your vision, hardware, and styling/photo gallery for inspiration. You'll also see some of you! There's a reader project gallery that celebrates those of you who submitted a project. Add in a Resource Index of products I use, and I'm not sure I could have fit much more.
Here's the awesome news: You guys will have first dibs at the book at the discounted price of $9.99!! If you want to know information as it becomes available, sign up for the email list here. Be sure to leave your email address on that post...not here. :-)
Stay tuned!

Congrats on the book! What a labor of love, and en enormous undertaking!
ReplyDeleteGirl you should be so proud of yourself!! That is a lot to take on especially with little ones & a blog and all the other projects. I can't wait to read it - It will be nice to have all that good info in one spot instead of googling! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on the email list and can't wait to purchase. One tiny constructive critique - the 'binding' on the front cover (off white woven fabric) is taking away from the beauty, detail and finish of the dresser and your title. Is there another option that might blend more? Still buying the ebook though. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHip-Hip Hooray! You did it! Good job! I am so happy for you. No, not everyone gets to fulfill their dreams. You set a goal and you did it. I am aplauding you.(I hope I did not spell that wrong):>) anyways...I am wishing you lots of book sales.
ReplyDeleteWell done Shaunna, looking forward the big release date!!!! Congratulations. ;-)
ReplyDeleteShaunna, please put me on the list....and get well soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you girl! Can't wait to read and learn.
ReplyDeleteit will be FABULOUS!! No doubt.. can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you! You are very talented and I can only imagine all the great stuff you have in there!
ReplyDeleteI've only just recently discovered your blog after recently tackling painting my dining room sideboard(http://gettingitswoonworthy.blogspot.com/2011/02/before-after-white-painted-sideboard.html). I've been so blown away by your talent and inspiration that I can't wait to tackle more projects! Ok, so my little sideboard is no where near as gorgeous as some of your pieces but this e-book may be the answer to taking on more projects with a little more confidence! I can't imagine how much work will have gone into this fabulous book. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom - can't wait to see the finished product :)
ReplyDeleteI think the cover is lovely. can't wait to get my hands on it. ;)
